Who we are

Bakewell Mannerians Rugby Union Football Club ("the club", "we") is the data controller for the personal information you provide on this site. You can contact us at secretary@bakewellrfc.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Full name, date of birth, home address
  • Email address and phone number
  • Chosen membership type
  • Marketing consent preference (optional)

Why we collect it (lawful basis)

  • Contract — to administer your membership, team selection and communication about your subscription.
  • Legal obligation — to keep a register of members as required by our alcohol premises licence and the Licensing Act 2003.
  • Consent — only if you opt in, to send marketing emails about fixtures, socials and fundraising.

Who sees your data

The club committee and our data processor (Lovable Cloud, which hosts the members database on secure UK/EU infrastructure). Where required, we also share limited details with:

  • The RFU and county / league bodies — for player registration, age-grade compliance and safeguarding.
  • Our insurance provider — for public liability and player insurance cover.
  • The local licensing authority — the members register kept under the Licensing Act 2003.
  • Club sponsors — name and email only, and only if you have given separate opt-in consent at sign-up. Available to adult members (Senior Player, Vice President, Life) only. Junior members' data is never shared with sponsors. You can withdraw sponsor-sharing consent at any time by emailing the secretary.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with any other third parties for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep membership records for the duration of your membership plus 6 years, in line with our licensing and insurance obligations. Marketing consent is removed immediately on unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data erased when it's no longer needed for licensing purposes
  • Withdraw marketing consent at any time
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk)

To exercise any of these rights, email secretary@bakewellrfc.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
